The natural environment of the highlands and islands, with its superb landscapes and seascapes is the main reason why tourists visit the area. The majority of our visitors expect and respect tourism businesses which do a little bit more to recognise the importance of the environment and 'put something back' to care for our natural heritage.

The award will be presented to any group, business or organisation which has done something to improve the quality of the visitor experience by ensuring good care for the natural heritage, has ensured sustainability in any new investment, or been innovative in making the best of scotland's most important natural asset.

The judges will be looking for candidates which have the environment at the heart of their activities; an ethos which reflects a commitment to environmental good practice and one which ensures that its visitors have a quality experience of nature while caring for, enhancing and protecting our natural heritage.
