The Awards recognise and reward the ‘best of the best’ tourism businesses of all sizes in the Highlands and Islands. If you are involved in our region’s tourism industry then these awards are for you! There is a category suitable for every tourism business in our region.

We are very excited about HITA's new developments this year. There will be 14 new categories to enter and through our partnership with VisitScotland, our HITA 2012 winners will automatically be put forward as regional finalists in the national Scottish Thistle Awards scheme.

Our Vision
The HITA Board is made up of industry led volunteers who are involved because of their passion and commitment to the industry’s future. The Board’s vision is to deliver a unique and outstanding celebratory event which recognises the very best in the Highlands and Islands Tourism industry.

HITA will openly promote and encourage excellence within Highlands and Islands tourism, formally recognise best practice in all sectors of our most important industry through a fair, open and honest judging process, facilitate the process which will enable our area exemplars progress to the national stage and finally, will be accountable through demonstrating honesty and integrity at all times
