The competition to win a prestigious Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards (HITA) trophy has reached an unprecedented level with entries and nominations this year surpassing previous record-breaking levels.

The difficult task of narrowing down entries to 55 strong contenders has taken place and the shortlist is up!

The finalists represent the entire length and breadth of the region from Shetland to Argyll and from Moray to the Outer Hebrides – and range from castles to pubs and from internationally-renowned visitor attractions to remote get-aways.

We would like to thank this year’s sponsors VisitScotland, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Loch Ness by Jacobite, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, System2, NorthLink Ferries, Historic Environment Scotland, Scottish Provincial Press, Inverness Hotels Association, Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd, Caledonian Sleeper, Chivas Brothers, The Highland Council, the Federation of Small Businesses, J Thomson Colour Printers, Fishers and BidFood Scotland.
